Food purified by Ghee !!

Jai Gurudev !!

Last week , I had the opportunity to attend a Mahasatsang , conducted by Guruji Sri Sri RaviShankar . Infact we can say that we ought to be blessed to get a chance to attend such functions.

Megasatsang can be termed as a huge gathering of people or devotees , wherein they participate actively in the bhajan songs mainly,  in the midst of which Guruji would conduct live meditations for about 20 to 25 minutes followed by Knowledge Sessions.
The Live meditation will be such a wonderful experience in the presence of Guruji. It refreshes our mind totally.

And in Knowledge session, Guruji would cover some general topics related to day to day activities, country welfare etc. He puts the things with a sense of humour that people almost burst into laughter througout teh session. More interesting will be he spontaneously answers to the questions of the devotees , which really would be enlightening. The whole program would extend to a period of 2 hours or so.

In this satsang  , Guruji started with the definition for the Satsang. He said, "Satsang is an informal gathering. Everyone sits and participates as if they are at home with a sense of belonging to each other. Secondly you give all your sufferings or botherations to me and leave this place with a joy and a pleasant state of mind !!  "

One more catchy point he said ,
" When you are in sorrow, be in the state of Surrender !!
And when you are happy , serve others !! "
meaning , whenever our mood is not good and we experience sorrow ,the reason may be our wish not fulfilled or emotional disturbance , we need to surrender to the God, saying , " God, you please take care of my suffering !!"
And when we experience the joy or happiness , we need to share that joy to others in need . That way our joy also gets multiplied.

Then another interesting stuff , he shared was about the Purity at different levels.
Our Food gets purified by adding a spoon of ghee !!
Our Body gets purified by taking in Ayurveda medicines ( For ex. Triphala tablets 4 to 5 times a week cleans our stomach )  !!
Our Wealth gets purified by donating a portion of our income !!
Our Emotions get purified by listening to Music !!
Our intellect gets purified by being in Knowledge or listening to talks of Wisdom !!
Our Mind gets purified by Meditation !!

In Indian language ,
Anna shuddhi by Ghee !!
Kshareer Shudhdhi by Ayurveda !!
Dhana Shuddhi by Dhaanaa !!
Bhaava Shudhdhi by Gaana !!
Budhdhi shudhdhi by Gyana !!
And Mana Shudhdhi by Dhyana !!

The above rhythmic words keeps sounding in my mind always ...and is finding its way in my action too...

My Sabarimala Experience !!

Jai Gurudev !!

Lord Ayyappa Swamy

As a small girl , I had always had an admiration to the Lord Aiyyappa Swamy , reading His Birth Story and hearing His Fame. My father used to make the pilgrimage to Sabarimala every year , observing fast . I used to attend the Aiyappa Swamy Bhajans too . Those devotional songs like "Villaathi Veerane , Veera Manikandane !! , Kallum mullum kaalukku meththai" etc  always make a reverberation in my heart . The words would be very catchy and  inspirational too !!

And my younger brother , who is now no more also was  belived to have born because of Aiyappa Swamy's Grace after praying to Him , my parents say. My father then  had taken my brother , when he was hardly six or seven  years old in the long route of 48 km walking and trekking the Sabari hills. My brother always used to fondly cherish those memoirs, as his "Irumudi " or the baggage carrying the Rice and Coconut filled with ghee for Aiyappa Swamy was so heavy that he had given to my father to carry and he used to walk ahead of all in the group .

Alas ! In life race also , he had walked so much ahead leaving us behind ...That's a great tragedy !!
And similar to Aiyappa Swamy story  , he had left his fiancee , just before his marriage ...

The rituals and the hard penance a devotee has to undergo while fasting before going to Sabari hills makes him very strong both physically and mentally  and brings fulfillment and contentment at the end , though it is very difficult to observe  .

It was the time, when I had finished my college and had taken up a job , got an opportunity to stay with my uncle's family in Bangalore. My uncle and aunt has two sons and always do consider me as their own daughter and shower their love on me . And my uncle never leaves his family , whenever and wherever he goes anywhere ,be it a trip or a pilgrimage. And I believe because of this attitude , when he had planned the tour to Sabari Hills apart from the other tourist spots in Kerela like Guruvayoor, Kaladi etc along with his friend , he included us also . We both families joined together and set off for the pilgrimage cum trip,  though not in Ayyappa season season period .Being aware that ladies are not supposed to go there , the original plan was that we ladies would stay back while only the men alone climd the hills/visit the Aiyyappa temple  and join us back for further trip in and around Kerela.

But once on reaching Pampa , we got the information  that , they've started allowing even the ladies to the Sabarimalai Temple, of late ,this was way back in 1991 or 1992 . This information had changed our plan and we , ladies also accomplanied them , in the short route , after having our bath in the holy Pampa River. The trek and hill view was very different and new experience.

It was really amazing to see the clouds moving gently at a level lower than the mountain . And I also remember seeing a long queue of donkeys carrying the loads of materials on their back on the rough terrain full of stones enroute to Sabarimala hills. And not to forget the historic famous Sabari temple, the old and devoted lady , who fed Rama with the fruits , selected and tasted by her as mentioned in Ramayana. That was a nice feeling to roam around there, with that story lingering in mind.

Then , we reached the Holy and the most sought after temple of Manikanta  , the one who was found with the beads in his neck by the King, who considered him as the blessing from God due to his prayers and brought him up as his own son. The whole trekking was about 5 Kms ,felt little difficult to climb through.

As said and heard , spotted many young ladies there . Also witnessed baskets and baskets of flowers being carried by the priests for the Puja . There was a Ganesha Temple , next to the Golden 18 Holy steps of Sabarimalai. Just on seeing those steps , something shook me from inside. These divine steps carry a lot of spiritual significance and considered most sacred by the devotees.   I was just moved to tears and the emotions in me rose very high . I stood there standstill and awestruck . The temple , the location in the middle of the dense Hills kept me wondering ,if that's a true happening .

The story goes this way -  the little Aiyappa had released an arrow and the place where the arrow fell down , the temple was said to have been built by the King Pandalaraja . This story was running in my backscreen of my mind , though I seemed to have lost m self  in the Holy 18 steps. For one to reach the divine,  he has to climb the 18 steps or levels of austerities and penance in subtle meaning.

Then , my aunt called me to have the darshan of Aiyappa Swamy , through the back door , because one is supposed to climb the 18 steps only if we had observed the fast and carried the Irumudi . But, something stopped me from inside . A strong urge from inside said "No!".
Having known about the severe penance of Lord Aiyappa Swamy, a Brahmachari , who had left Maalikpuram Mangamma waiting for Him at the footsteps itself .As per the story,   in fact  He had put a condition to her that the year when no Kanni swamy or new devotee comes to see Him , he would marry her. But year by year , the devotees count keeps on increasing and her wait period has become infinite.

These thoughts never gave me way to go and see Him or take darshan of Him , though He was just a few steps away. Though my aunt insisted me to accompany her , I just said a firm No.  I felt so much  contented taking a look at the sacred 18 steps and did not want anything more. My eyes were swelling with tears of devotion. And a thought had popped up in my mind that time, that after my marriage, my husband would come and visit Him.
And we returned back after visiting Mangamma temple there .

Later as promised, with Ayyappa Swamy's Grace, the time had come for my husband to visit Sabarimala after some 10 years of our marriage and therefore  could complete the prayers.

Lord Aiyappa Swamy always brings a sweet devotion in my heart rather anyone's heart , no doubt !!

I am sure  with His Grace,  He will give an opportunity to visit Him in the near future may be after a couple of years ..

Harivarasanam Viswamohanam

Repository of Hari's boons,
Enchanter of universe,
Essence of Hari's grace,
He whose holy feet is worshipped,
He who kills enemies of good thought,
He who daily dances the cosmic dance,
Son of Hari and Hara,
I take refuge in thee God.
My refuge is in you Ayyappa,
My refuge is in you Ayyappa.

Diwali Breakdown !!

Jai Gurudev !!

Diwali

This Diwali , we had been to our native place to celebrate with our parents . The family reunion during festivals especially during Diwali is something more gratifying for everyone. Infact that makes the celebration complete , we can say !

With all the train tickets booked months in advance for Diwali holidays, people who do not plan their trips well in advance will have a very tough time. This we experienced during this trip.
We had been in our car to our native place. After enjoying the Diwali , we started off on Diwali day itself after Ganga snaan and special Diwali breakfast to Bangalore. On the way back ,we had purchased many items which are exclusively available in our native place like boiled rice sack  for Rice and Idli preparation, Garlic, Dhall varities , vegetables like babana flower, banana stem , Palm root , groceries like horsegram , Palm Jaggery etc etc .. Almost the car was jam packed , with little place for my son to sit. So much full with iems . On the way , we had taken diversion to visit the family deity in a village , performed pooja to our heartfull , had a wonderful lunch at our relatives house and again continued the journey.

When we reached Salem , we started hearing a sound in the car . The AC had stopped working. We could very well feel the heat of teh mid day sun . Then when we stopped to check what had happened , we noticed the coolant had dried up perhaps there was a leakge . Somehow we drove down to the nearby petrol bunk and tried topping up the coolant. But still that didn't work , the temperature indication was still showing high. The car which was moving a bit also stopped . Any attempt to start the engine went in vain. The radaitor kept boiling . The metal sheath lining had damaged causing the water and oil to mix as a result.
Then , we find ourselves standing in the middle of the Highway road , inside the car , in the midst of lots of luggages. The next day , need to go to office/school.

Since it happened to be Diwali Day ,we could see each and every shop shut down , no mechanics could be spotted anywhere. We were left stranded . Somehow my husband managed to arrange for a mechanic through his local friend with so much difficulty. He seemed to have appeared from nowhere , soon checked the engine status and towed our vehicle to his shop nearby. He said, the repair would take another two days as the lathe shops are also closed for Diwali .All my worry was how to carry all the things back home.
I was thinking , "Oh ! what a bad Diwali day !! Will He not come for our help ? Will the car not be repaired
immediately in no time ?!"

Luckily the mechanic said on reading my worry lines that  he would take care of the things .We felt relieved and left the non perishable items in the car itself . Then the mechanic managed to drop us  to my husband's friend's place .There we rested for a while and when we were about to leave , I was taken aback on looking at the front of car which the mechanic had used to tow our car to his shop and drive us back  . At that moment, only thing that was visible in my eyes was those few words written in the front side of the car .
"Om Shri Shirdi Sai Baba Saranam !!"

Oh ! Baba !! You have appeared in time , when we were facing the most difficult situation and you had taken pains to pull us to reach the destination without us having to suffer a single pain , which we had never expected it !!
Jai Sai Ram !!

It so happened that I was observing  the Nine week Sai Baba Vratha , performing the Nine Thursday pooja . That was the the eighth Thursday , which I had to perform the Puja. How Sai has helped in time !!
I was very much moved !!

Guruji Sri Sri Ravishankar always says , "When you are in the path ( spiritual ) , you are always well  taken care of !!"

A Gala Evening in the slum ...

Jai Gurudev !!

Slum Satsang

Today we had been to one of the slum in our neighbouring area for a Satsang from our Art of Living Center , Bhuvaneshwari Nagar .This is part of the Diwali Satsang in Slum. Devotees in our area doante for such noble causes  time and again Just before the onset of Diwali ,  we had distributed around 50 sarees /T Shirts /Diyas /Toliet articles like soaps , Paste, Toothbrush etc to each family rather each hut in two of the slums . We have not had the bhajan and food distribution that time.
Today , our center teacher Mr.Gururaj and his wife Mrs.Romna had conducted few simple pranayama sessions followed by the Ram Dhyaan mediattion for the slum dwellers there  . Next , we had sung a couple of Bhajan songs , which the people had recited enthusiastically along with us . This time the active participation of the people including the kids and men was comparitively high.

I would like to give a brief description of the slum in these areas and the people living there.
The people who live there are basically from North or interior Karnataka , who speak Kannada in Belgaum style dialect  and are mostly involved in construction works . Both men and women leave for their work in mornings and come back in nights . Small kids will be carried along with them to work. After work , the women make Jowar Rotis , thin and tasty ones along with Brinjal curry or Ridgegourd curry or Cabbage curry in the firewood stove. The main ingredients they use in curry is Peanut or groundnut powder. And one more thing each hut would be built on a small mound , made artificially with a door made of  tin or just a screen cloth . The inside of the hut is kept very clean , well organized and tidy. The same hut is used as kitchen, living room and bedroom too. We can see the wooden planks fixed on all sides inside the hut over which they place the vessels and things.Even women and kids will be neatly dressed . Only thing is that the surrounding areas outside the hut will not be clean. One more important thing is that they are very disciplined in their lifestyle unlike the upper class people , well behaved , friendly and very honest too.

When we entered the slum today evening , it was almost half past six. Sun had gone to bed already. Without any light , we couldn't see anything inside. Thought how the people over there live. Soon when we started the satsang  , our visibility increased gradually  , thanks to the rising moon. The moon light right on top of our head ,surrounded by a few bright stars created a beautiful ambience, with the cool breeze . The high rise cooconut trees on all sides seen in the fainted light added beauty to the scene. The kids really enjoyed the satsang . Infact, I felt as though the temple has been brought amidst them in a time when they had least expected it.

This was followed by the food distribution , home made by our volunteers , Ms.Neha & Chanda aunty group. The menu included sweet , Puliyogare/Tamarind Rice, Appalam /Papad , Banana and Payasam /Kheer. They came in queue and collected the food . Not to mention they thoroughly relished the food .

And we also distributed some used clothes which we had taken along with us to them .We left the place , bidding them good bye , uttering loudly , "Jai Gurudev !!" with our heart full  . You know the contentment of heart will happen only when we give and not when we take  !!

Many many thanks to our beloved Guruji ...His Holiness Sri Sri Ravishankar !!

Sixth Sense !!

Jai Gurudev !!

When all the animals are born with 5 senses , what's the idea behind the Nature , developing a Human with an additional sense called as sixth sense ?!

As the nature of 5 senses goes , every sense would like to do whatever they want just  unlimited ...
The Eyes get engrossed itself in watching things be it good or bad
The Ears keeps listening to unwanted gossips - nonstop
The Tongue indulges in eating always -the junk food...
The same with the sense of touch and smell too,..

But , by introducing a new sense called as Sixth sense ,
it's made possible to keep a watch on  the other 5 senses from overindulgence rather
to have a control over the 5 senses , the sixth sense is being incorporated !!

Hence with the Sixth sense , the highest form , the Man who has the power to have a say on his senses came into existence !!

But even with that Sixth sense , if we do not have the Self Control, then is the purpose served ?!
Think , Oh Man .. Think !!

Just two words !!

Jai Gurudev !!

Once the Guru addressed a group of devotees and asked them , " What is that you want in your life ? "
The group got quite excited and started probing themselves to tell what they wanted.

The Guru said, " Pls take a bit of paper and write it in just two words and hand it over to me !1"

Everyone got into action at once and presented the folded paper bit with their intials marked on top.

The Guru after a short discourse started seggregating  the chits .

He tore quite a good number of chits into pieces and threw them away. The reason being , the wants were written as a long list of wish , more than two words  . Here , the Guru's words were not followed at the first instant. So, Guru disregarded their demands totally.

Then he classified the next set as category No.1.
In this category , the chits were filled with only wants, which satisfied the Guru's instructions .
But here , all the wants were related to the individual needs like their health, their family health, wealth, kids studies , free from problems etc.

Next came the category No.2 :
Here the Guru selected the chits with the two letter wants , which are pertinent to the spiritual path as "serving the Lotus Feet of God "," Shradhha /Dedication" ," Saboori/patience" etc.
But yet this comes one step lower to the ideal category , Category  No.3 , because this also belongs to the self-centered wants/needs only though of spiritual nature.

And then top most category No.3 , which the Guru selected were only very few , only 3 chits !!
People were astonished at this and were very inquisitive on what  it would have been written in those selected 3 chits.
First thing is ,  these chits were strictly in line with the execution of Guru's instructions without any deviation. This is the prime requirement for one to be in teh spiritual path.
Secondly , the two letter wants or wish were not self centered and purely asked keeping in mind the welfare of the whole world as " All Happy" , 'Love all " ,"Help all " !!

In sanskrit , it is said as "Sarvena SukinoBhavanthu !!" meaning "All people be happy"!!

Hence the Guru concluded as " One who lives for the world , without any selfish nature ,comes under the top most class of people !!"

Which category of people do you come under ?
Can you grade yourself ?!

Down to ashes ...

Jai Gurudev !!
In our school days , we would not have missed the simple , yet an interesting experiment with the Magnifying Glass or a Hand Lens , Paper and the Sunlight .
Though the process simply explains how the intensity of the Sunrays , when focused to one point can bring the fire and burn the paper down to ashes , if we take a deeper insight into it  , it reveals much more than science involved ...rather depicts a beautiful lesson of life !!

In real Life , the same experiment can be translated as follows :

Sun/Sun Light  <=>  Guru /Guru's Grace

Magnifying Glass <=> We

Paper  <=>  Our Bad Karmas

Focusing the lens <=> Bringing one/Aligning  in line with the Guru's path .

Holding the lens for sometime until the paper catches fire <=> Be in the path with Dedication , patience & Pereseverance
Sufferings down to ashes !!

The paper burns down to ashes in this process .
Similarly our sufferings will be burnt down to ashes with the power of Guru combined with one's own efforts !!

So, one can easily get rid off his/her bad karmas and in turn the sufferings of life with the Guru's Grace !!

By the way , have you selected the right Guru in your Life ?

Shall I tell you ....Who's in your Heart ?

Jai Gurudev !!

Have you any time thought what do you say as the main contents of "I" ?
One cannot deny the fact that "I" can be broadly classified into three main parts , viz

1. Body
2. Mind
3.Heart .

Body being the physical layer , mind and heart come under the subtler aspects apparently.

Let's have a look at the behavioural aspects of each.
Whatever our body tells , the mind and heart doesn't listen to.
Say if the body feels hungry in an important meeting, the mind doesn't allow the body to munch some biscuits at that moment. Or if the body feels like taking rest in the midst of an importat assignment , the mind and heart doesn't permit to do so.

But, if the mind tells the body to do some exercise , because it benefits in various ways , the body listens to the mind and acts accordingly.
At the same time , if the mind says the heart not to become sad or not to cry , when the heart is reeling under heavy pain due the loss of its beloved , the heart just doesn't listen to it. It weeps and sheds tears due to the agony .
Similarly if the heart feels the love , it shows that outside , never minding the words of mind .
The heart just does not listen to the mind or the body .

But if the heart says something , both the body and the mind start to sway to its orders or instructions .
If the heart intends to show its love to somebody , then the mind instantly tries to find out the best gift and decides that and the legs /body immediately starts executing the orders of the mind.

In other words , we can say ,

The body doesn't have a control over both the mind and the heart.

The Mind doesn't have a control over the heart , though it has a say with the body.

But , it's only the heart that rules both the mind and the body.

Why is that so ?

It's because , in the heart resides the Divine power or the God !!
And obviously the God is the ruler of  everything !!

And in every heart be it a human or any other living being , only He remains !!

Golden Rules for a blissful experience !!

Jai Gurudev !!

There are 3 Golden Rules for Meditation !!

One needs to follow these 3 rules to go deeper in meditation.
Rule 1  :  Think , " I am Nothing !!"

Rule 2  : Think , " I want Nothing !!"

Rule 3 :  Think , " I do Nothing !!"

Meaning , one needs to drop all his identity , when he sits for meditation . He ought to drop all his wants or desires. Thirdly he has to drop the sense of doership .
We need to transcend all these and then remain in that state of meditation to have a real feel of that immense experience !!

How to increase your Charisma ?

Jai Gurudev !!

Charisma ?!
Whenever we see certain  persons , we feel like not talking to them . We just want to turn our face from them . Perhaps the reason may be they are short tempered . Sometimes we cannot reason it out also.

But some people if we see, we feel like going and talking to them voluntarily. Some sort of pulling force or something unexplainable which attracts us to them.

If we closely observe this phenemenon, we can come to a conclusion that there's some invisible energy acting in each person which is responsible for their charisma present in them .

This invisible energy or the vibrations or the aura that surrounds each person depends on the individual's inner power . The inner energy can be increased by doing some spiritual practises or by doing meditation for atleast 10 minutes in a day .
By doing so , one can easily find out the difference it makes in oneself and in the surroundings that he/she interacts . Lots of positive vibrations can be noticed !!

Is your life joyous or miserable ?

Jai Gurudev !!

There's a simple way to find out if our life is more of joys or sorrows !
How ?

Take a sheet of paper ...
Divide into 2 columns.
Make a list of your wants in one column.
Then make a list of the responsibilities that you hold in the other column.
You just compare which one has more entries ?

<><><><>
WantsResponsibilities
1Luxury CarFamily Responibility
2Palatial HouseJob responsibility
3Farm HouseAny social responsibility ?
4Houses for Rent?
5Foreign trips ?
6Jewellery
7Fame
8Power/Post
9Luxury Car 2
10Posch Flat in prime locality

If your want list is more than your responsibilty list, then your life is more of sorrows .
On the other hand, if your responsibilities are more than your wants , then your life is more of joys !!

With the increase in your responsibilities , your joy also increases / your sorrow reduces.

And if you take responsibility for the whole world and say "I don't want anything !!"  , as did the Great Enlightened Masters like Jesus Christ , Shirdi Sai Baba  etc, then the Divine becomes yours !!
The Nature starts to listen to you !!

Just  take the case of a  child  who listens to it's parents' words - the parents are bound to listen to their child ,they can't say no to that obedient , loving and Responsible child's words/intentions .

Which water are you ?

Jai Gurudev !!

Just I happened to hear some words of wisdom , which is really enlightening and had avery profound impact in me .The question was ," Which water you would like to be ? "

A Stagnant water ?
A Running water ?
or
A Rain water ?

Do you choose the ever remaing in comfort-zone stagnant water or
the free flowing , painstaking running water or
be like a shower of rain water be of helpful to each and every living organism ?!

If you want to be always in the comfort zone , not willing to change oneself in attitude or behaviours ,
then obviously we become like a stagnant water body - in due course of time become dirty ,stinking with all worms and insects multiplying , and one fine day cannot be usable at all .
Here the dirt is refererred to the negative thoughts in our mind like anger, aversion, jealous ,lust, greed etc accompanied by the lethargic state of mind.

But , if  you  opt to be, dynamic ,readiness to take any challenges in life , then like the running water we have to undergo several ups and downs in life . ? But , our mind ever remains clear like the river water ,. Further the river water supports various living organisms on its way as our life will also be useful to many n our way. And finally reaches the river its destination too- the ocean !!
We , as rain water can reach ours too....

There's a still more better way of living rather an ideal way is there -guess what ? - that is like the ever clean rain water !!
The evaporated water from the water bodies forms a cloud and starts pouring as rain , once the cloud gets impreganated with condensed water particles.
The same way , if start reading the knowledge , grasp it  and keep absorbing , one fine day acquired knowledge begins to shower down in the form of action . We will start to shower knowledge and love to everyone around us unconditionally just like the pure rain water.
The whole world gains by that !!

But, if willing even the stagnant water can be transformed into the rain water . How ?
Like how the fish in the water tank or pond keeps the water clean , by fetching the qxygen from air into the water , similarly a Guru in our otherwise stagant life can bring in enough knowledge , so that our life gets purified and clean . All our negative thoughts fade away ...Good thoughts only remain with the help of the Guru !!
And by Guru's grace , the stagnant water too gets evaporated and can be showered as Rain !!

A Mother has born !!

Jai Gurudev !
A Kangaroo ?!

"A Mother is born along with kid !! "
That's a saying  said by Sri Sri Ravishankar Guruji .Though it's a well known fact that  a lady once she becomes a mother , all responsibilities related to taking care of the baby comes on her own naturally . No one has to teach her how to bring up her child nor she takes lessons anywhere.
It'd be really amazing to watch a  carefree young girl blossoming into an extremely caring and loving  mother , soon after the birth of the child..The young mother goes to an extent of sacrificing her sleep , food and all other comforts for the sake of her child !!

"One step ahead " we can say , if we take the case of the working mothers , who have to leave the few months old baby and go for the work , soon after her maternity leave.
Then a working mother needs to put in extra care to see that the baby is well taken care of  , for she cannot be with her child always , though her mind is always with her twenty fours a day , no doubt !!
She might seek the help of a care taker or a creech , but still her responsibilities  do not come down a bit , rather it grows multiple times . She has to see that all the requisite things of the baby are attended to by the caretaker properly. She always keeps the baby in her front end , pushing aside all other things to the next priority.

Recently caught my eyes , a rare sight ..the sight of an young mother carrying her baby ,hardly a few months old in a bag ( designed exclusively for carrying the babies)  , while riding a two wheeler , on the way back home from the creech  ! That shakes me a bit too  hard in a more subtle manner !!
The Mother of New Age !!
The photo capture of her can be seen here. It reminds us our sweet Kangaroo , carrying its baby in her pouch , hopping & jumping all the way in lands of Australia .

Oh God ! What a Creation !!
The Strikingly Amazing Mother of New Age !!
Hats off to Her !!

How did I come here ?

Jai Gurudev !!

How did I come here ?
One question which I used to ask im my young age , say some 5 , 6 years is coming to my mind.I still remember very well, I used to ask that question persistently to my mom ,my grandma, grandpa etc.
I used to get one typical answer. "We were asking for a child to God. So, he came and dropped you inside the house . "
Our house used to have an open space in the middle- a tiled thatched house. I just used to stand in the centre of the house and stare up at the open sky above, wondering how God would have dropped me from above.
I didn't know why that question pestered me so much , that too at that small age.
Though for time being my mouth was made shut by the answers of the elders, that question "How I did I come here ?"  was still lingering in my mind and the search was there.
Soon with the passing years , I came to know about the secrets of the process behind the child birth and  calmed my mind to an extent.
But , the answer to the same question with the matured age , I find is,
" I came here to nullify the karma accumulated in my previous births.
Based on the Karma , my place and time of birth was determined and the family in which I have to be born was also chosen. "

It's strange that one question is being carried over all through my ages.'
Who knows perhaps ,I might get a better anwer in near future !!

I am THE WAY, The TRUTH !!

Jai Gurudev!!

The neighbouring house lady was seen shattered and broke down upon seeing me . I also felt painful on looking at her state. I just asked , " What happened aunty ?"
"A great disater has fallen upon me , my only son has fallen in love with a Muslim girl !! "
I just thought " Oh ! This is the matter ! Not something serious " . Then I just allowed her to let out her emotions completely .
She continued for another about ten fifteen minutes non-stop . I was just a quiet observer , watching her with my full attention towards her.
" U see , my husband lurched me at the tender age of three of my son. How much I struggled to bring him up all alone !!Jesus was the only saviour . He helped me to tide over all the difficult phases of my life . My son has started standing in his own legs , . I was just feeling happy and telling tons of thanks to my Father . Though my health condition is very bad , taking medications for Rs.5000 per month , my son takes care of me. Now all of a sudden , my son has fallen trapped in that girl's web . What will I do ? He's decided to do the registered marraige in a month . My relatives has stopped talking to me . I will not be allowed in the church too after his marriage.I am unable to conduct my son'e marraige grandly My head which had risen high , now has dropped down to the ground. The girl is not good in anything - no beauty, very short, doesn't know cooking. She'll not convert to a Christian . She will have beef .That girl would then drive me away after marriage . I 'm going to suicide !!"

I just couldn't bear her talks  further .
I interpreted, "Aunty ! What has happened now that you want to suicide ?
Your health condition as you sais is already poor and you however are going to die shortly. Why do you want to hurry so fast ? Now atleast you have the eyes to cry ? After your death , the soul suffers so much , will not even know how to let out the emotions also !! "she was listening with a stunned look and then it was my turn to retaliate for her words,
"Further , your should feel happy that your son has selected a match right for him . The beauty is not external . My aunt's daughter , who ia a beauty queen , married to a guy with hero alike looks , could see her mariaage broke within a year or two. Now she has married a divorcee again. If the understanding is mutual and there's inner  harmony , ur son's life will be blissful for sure.
For that , your blessing is required .Give your beloved son , your whole-hearted blesssings . Arrange a wedding reception that would pave way for the receiving of blessings from friends and elders.
You be firm and say , "Yes, my son is getting mariied to a Muslim girl !!" , Nobody can tell anything agianst that , right ?!
Then , Why do you want her to change her belief  from Allah to Jesus ?
When you say , " Jesus is The Way, The Truth , The Life !" ,
"Did not Jesus mean  "He's the only Truth , The only way !!"
meaning "Every other Way is His-Jesus' only ?!"
Does it not imply that "The way of Allah is also the way of Jesus ?!
Your Jesus is also The Allah there !!
That's the Truth !!

Now, Be positive !!
That will have a positive impact !!

Think that your son is going to live happily ever after !! That will happen for sure.

Be happy !! "

The aunty seemed to be  relieved of her worries and her face bloomed , coming out of ignorance and she said "Thankyou Suvetha for making the points clear !! "and left the place ...

The only words left with me was  "Jai Gurudev !! "

Why don't Lord Vishnu have kids ? - Part II

Jai Gurudev !!

Why don't Lord Vishnu have kids ?

It leaves me in much awe , when realising that this indeed is a question in many a person's thoughts ...

Though an interpretation has been put forth in an earlier post Why don't Lord Vishnu have any kids ? - Part 1 , recently I just had to face the same question from a friend with her own interpretation , which goes as "

" maybe it is because to indirectly imply (to us, people/devotees) that even gods can't have all the wealth/health/pleasures at the same time. You are always left wanting to have something that you don't have. Poor have kids (want money); rich have money (want kids); those who have both (kids and money) want health and/or peace(of mind) and the list of what you have and what you want (don't have yet) is never ending. So maybe that is the reason? "

I feel it this way ..

" Lord Vishnu  & Goddess Lakshmi are Gods of Wealth and Prosperity , as we know very well. And innumerable number of people throng the holy place of Thirupathi , to seek Lord Balaji's blessings in the form of wealth and prosperity. And Goddess Lakshmi is revered so much that people keep calling Her name in their prayers , seeking the wealth showers.

If that's the case, where will the Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi find a leisure time to think about a kid of their own ?!
They should be too busy attending to the needs of the Earth inhabitants who are so much fond of wealth !!

If we consider Lord Shiva and  Parvathi , the deities responsible for the peace of mind/tranquility/strength etc, they are less sought for comparitevely by the people of the world. Therefore more amount of leisure time left for Lord Shiva and Parvathi and they could very well think of planning a family with 2 kids !!

So , we can expect Lord Vishnu to have kids, if the people start cutting down their demands with regards to the material benefits and bother Goddess Lakshmi to a lesser extent  in the near future !!

Baba as Narayan !!

Jai Gurudev!!

Last Thursday, I had been to Sai Baba temple at my area. Infact that's a house converted to temple . The family dwelling in that house has converted their hall into the sanctum santorum . And the speciality here is Shri Sai Baba is idolized in the form of Shri Maha Vishnu , standing under the Adisesha  . The Pujas are also  performed in a very orthodox , Vaishnavite way , with Bhajans , Prasad  , Mantra chanting , Flower decoration, reciting of Shri Sai Sat Charita , Maha Mangal Aarti etc,, Very nice to participate in the Thursday puja of Sai Baba and to be a part of the whole process . So enchanting and mesmerising , that it induces me to visit every Thursday . Thursday being a very auspicious day for the Guru , it adds to the speciality of the celebration that happens there.
We can call it as no less than celebration , because we can see that whole process is being carried out not by one or two persons , but a collective of 15 plus , including men and women , kids and elders alike ...that too with lots of fervour and devotion .
Infact I felt a wave of Devotion in the ocean of Divinity at that instant !!

A quote rather an anecdote was said  spontaneously by the prime person , who conducted the puja, supposed to have been inspired by Baba's subtle presence  ...

"Our Life is like that of a Boxing game !!
We are indeed boxers . By being in this spiritual path , it's not that we will not get to face any problem .
Problems do come , like how a hit or blow comes to the boxer . And it's the boxer's timely presence  and capability , both mental and physical , that would cause him to resist the attack.
There will be times, he may have to fall down. But immediately , he bounces back with enhaced energy and will power to fight against the opponent.
In the whole process , he not only gets stronger and stronger , but gets more and more joy on the gain of every point  . "

What a plain truth it is !!

Thinking on those lines  ...munching the truth in my mind ... a day or two scrolled by...
That saturday , I had to face an opponent ( ofcourse I mean the destiny )...I had cut myself , aittle deep cut in my left hand palm with a knife, while trying to cut something , resulting in a few sutures , unable to move the left hand.  I couldn't carry out my normal routine with both hands .Only one hand doing every thing from A to Z. Now I'm operating the keypad also in one hand .
But u see , I remember that boxer story , thanks to Baba , I could very well place my opponent ( the unfavourable events ofcourse !) at bay and still am able to post an article in the blog !!
Here I have pocketed one more point to my account , no doubt !!

Jai Sai Ram !!

Sadabishekam !!

Jai Gurudev !!

Normally the elders of the family take innumerable pains to bring two young  hearts in wedlock . Lots of search for the right match , shortlisting based on many criteria including the horoscopic match , the efforts of the parents' role cannot be explained in words .

Even after the marriage , the parents strive their best to support their dear children in all highs and lows they would face right from day one. The real value of the parents' role can be sharply felt by  those who have lost them in their early ages.

I've read somwhere as , " If  we are blessed with both parents even in our middle age , we are considered as one among the luckiest few in this world. " .
The elderly couples living upto the age of eighty years is a rare phenomenon  . The children would then get an opportunity to show their gratitude back in terms of conducting " Sadabishekam " or Eightieth year marriage to their elderly parents.

Recently I got to get such a great opportunity to participate in the Sadabishekam function performed to my in-laws at Thirukkadaiyur near Tanjore .The whole process went on well . That's a wonderful feeling , I can say.

The elderly couples sitting as bride and groom  and performing puja and yagnas is a rare sight  indeed !!
The children taking care of the rituals ( standing beside the couples  brings to my mind the change in role played )  seeking the elders' blessings really makes one to feel , * gifted * to reciprocate the love received  earlier .The grandchildren do also play an active role in the elaborate rituals carried out.

The priest who conducted the Yagnas quoted  as , " The elderly couples now can be seen as God and Goddess ( Eshwaran and Parvati)  after the Sadabishekam function "

It makes true sense !!
