It’s a time of celebration for all the lifeless creatures !!
Not only there’s the celebration for the living beings , but for other non living things too ?!
Here comes the festival of decorations !!
The name of the festival goes as
the Dussehra, Navratri , Durga Puja , Ayudha Puja , Vija Dasami ,Saraswathi Puja etc...
Even I have got the power !! |
This is the time , every lifeless items in this universe enjoy their best part of the year , I think . Having thoroughly cleaned , they get a fresh lease of life , fully decked up with flowers , Sandal paste - Kumkum bindhis and become very attractive .
Can I have some more flowers ? |
Starting from the house , the workplace , the vehicles -four wheelers to bicycles , the household items like Fans , stove, windows, Ovens , geysers and any gadgets , modern or old , Laptops , the Books , notebooks , pens , Knives nothing is left over …all wear a festive look and sure is a feast for our eyes . Even people go to the extent that the whole of bus will be fully covered by the flowers , that the driver can hardly see the road . This is common sight in Bangalore.
Any missouts ? |
There's also a practise wherein a set of dolls , right from birds , animals to human beings to the Gods are showcased in various steps and puja is performed for the whole setup . They call it as Golu in Tamil .
That's a wonderful concept , our tradition and culture is carrying forward , I guess.
Each and every thing in this world , which we come in contact in our daily life is being identified , recognised and revered . This goes without saying that every object is fit to be given due place and importance .
The divine aspect in each and every object , whether living or non-living is brought forward ,
paving the way for the celebration of our very existence .
The festival is celebrated over a period of nine days with great zeal and enthusiasm all over . Though one is aware of the underlying meaning behind the celebration or not , one just cannot deny the exponential increase in the positive energy in oneself and the surrounding place of celebration .
Happy Dussehra !!
Love & smiles...
