Lord Krishna imparting knowledge to Arjuna in the warfield .

Chapter 4: Shloka 3 :

The ancient Yoga , which is a *Supreme Secret *  ,

has this day been imparted to you by Me ,

because you are My Devotee  and Friend !!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2: Shloka 2:

Sri Krishna said to Arjuna , whose mind was agitated by grief on the battlefield and refusing to take up the fight :

"Arjuna , how has this infatuation overtaken you at this odd hour ?

It is shunned by noble souls ;

Neither will it bring heaven nor fame to you !!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2 : Shloka 11

-------------------------

Krishna said, " You grieve over those who should not be grieved for .

Wise men do not sorrow over the dead or the Living .

Just as boyhood , youth and old age are attributed to the soul through this body ,

even so , it attains another body .

The Wise Men do not get deluded about this .  (13).the senses and

Chapter 2 : Shloka 14

Krishna said ,

 " O Son of Kunti , the contacts between the senses and their objects , which give rise to the feelings of heat and cold, pleasure and pain etc.. are transitory and fleeting;

Therefore Arjuna , ignore them "

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2: Shloka 15:

Arjuna , the wise man to whom pain and pleasure are alike

and who is not tormented by these contacts , becomes eligible for immortality .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2: Shloka 16 :

The unreal has no existence ,

and the Real never ceases to be the ;

The reality of both has thus been perceived by the seers of Truth .

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2: Shloka 18 :

All these bodies pertaining to the imperishable ,

indefinable and eternal soul are spoken of as perishable ,

therefore , Arjuna , fight .

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2: Shloka 19 :

Both of them are ignorant ,

he who considers the soul to be capable of killing

and he who takes it as killed ;

for verily the soul neither kills  nor is killed !!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2: Shloka 20 :

The soul is never born nor dies ;

nor does it become only after being born .

For it is unborn , eternal , everlasting and primeval  ;

eventhough the body is slain , the soul is not !!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2: Shloka 21 :

Arjuna, the man who knows this soul to be imperishable ;

eternal and free from birth and decay  -

how and whom will he cause to be killed ,

how and whom will he kill ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2: Shloka 22 :

As a man shedding worn-out garments , takes other new ones ,

likewise the embodied soul , casting off worn-out bodies

enters into others which are new .
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2: Shloka 23 & 24 :
Weapons cannot cut it nor Fire can burn it ;Water cannot wet it nor can wind dry it .

For this soul is incapable of being cut ;

it is proof against fire , impervious to water  and undriable as well .

This soul is eternal , omnipresent  , immovable, constant and everlasting .

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 6: Shloka 34 :The individual is the passenger in the car of the material body and intelligence is the driver.Mind is the driving instrument and the senses are the horses.The Self is thus the enjoyer or sufferer in the association of the mind and the senses.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapter 7 - Shloka 15-16

"Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, who are lowest among mankind  ,whose knowledge is stolen by illusion and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons do not surrender unto Me.O Best among the Bharathas , four kind of pious men begin to render devotional unto Me  - the distressed ,  the desirer of Wealth , the inquisitive  and he who is searching for knowledge of the Absolute "

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 6: Shloka 6:

For him who has conquered the mind , the mind is the best of friends

but for one who has failed to do so  , his very mind will be the greatest enemy .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 11 : Shloka 15:

Arjuna said : My dear Lord Krishna , I see assembled together in Your body , all the demigods and various other living deities . I see Brahma sitting on the lotus flower as well as Lord Shiva and many sages and divine serpents .

Chapter 2: Shloka 44

In the minds of those who are too attached to sense enjoyment and material opulence and who are bewildered by such things , the resolute determination of devotional service to the Supreme Lord does not take place.

*******************************************************************************
 Chapter8: Shloka 15

After attaining Me , the great souls , who are yogis in devotion ,
never return to this temporary world , which is full of miseries ,
because they have attained the highest perfection.

 ***********************************************************************************

Chapter 8: Shloka 16 :
From the highest planet in the material world down to the lowest  ,all are places of misery wherein repeated birth and death take place.But, one who attains to My abode , O son of Kunti ,never takes birth again
.**********************************************************************************Chapter2: Shloka 53
When your mind is no longer disturbed by the flowery language of the Vedas and when it remains fixed in the trance of Self-Realisation , then you will have attained the Divine Consciousness.**********************************************************************************

Chapter 3 : Shloka 13:The devotees of the Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food which is offered first for sacrifice .Others , who prepare food for personal sense enjoyment , verily eat only sin.

*************************************************************************************
Chapter 5: Shloka 14

The embodied spirit, master of the city of his body , does not create activities , nor does he induce people to act , nor does he create the fruits of action.All this is enacted by the modes of material nature

 ***************************************************************************************

Chapter 6 : Shloka 7 :

For one who has conquered the mind , the Supersoul is already reached for he has attained tranquility.

To such a man , happiness and distress , heat and cold , honor and dishonor are all the same.

Chapter 2 : Shloka 60

The senses are so strong and impetuous , O Arjuna , that they forcibly carry away the mind away even of a man of discrimination who is endeavouring to control them  .
